How to pickup a domain:
First of all search for keywords related to your site at http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/, then pickup the keywords from the top (for sure you won't find a domain name avaliable for registration for the top keyword/phrase), and try them in http://www.whois.sc/domain-explorer/ if they are free - use them with hyphens (keyword1-keyword2.com). Go for .com and .net.. (.org sucks). Nowadays i'm searching only for .com, but when i find an interesting one with .net i'll register it for sure. 9$/year doesn't hurt too much, when you can get a good ranking in SE - especielly in yahoo, it goes for domain name!
