Some of the terms used in the domain industry

TLD - Top level domain ie. the .com part of a name
CNO - .com, .net, .org domains - the ones first managed by Verisign
URL - Uniform Resource Locator ie. the web address of a page
FQDN - Fully Qualified Domain Name - the complete and unique domain name with a dot delimiter at the end - for example anjali.uncovered.com.
WLS - Wait Listing Service, a controversial proposal by Verisign http://www.verisign.com/products-ser...ice/index.html
