Here's a great tool to play with, it has a free trial period. It's a keyword competition analyzer; it generates keyphrases based on your desired keyword and checks the number of search results against the number of searches done monthly and displays it as a ratio

I personally didn't try the doorway page generator built in, I hear you have to be careful with those, but the keyword competition analyzer was really cool.
