What is that Gallery2Blog?
Gallery2Blog simply allows you to convert a list with gallery urls (+name, description, etc) to a RSS feed. If you use Thumblogger then Gallery2Blog will add your blog posts directly to your Thumblogger blogs.
Most sponsors have a big list of Free Hosted Galleries, this big list can be often exported to a text file (or CSV). The file can be given to Gallery2Blog which will convert it to a RSS feed. This text file that contains the gallery urls (and most of the time gallery names and descriptions) will be called CSV from now on.
But as we all know these galleries often don't have a extensive gallery description as needed for blogging. That is why Gallery2Blog offers you a easy and efficient way to change the gallery descriptions. Lets get started!
How much does it cost?
It is free for everyone. The only thing we ask is that you put a link back to Gallery2Blog on a page which is reachable by search engines and may be visited by fellow adult blog webmasters. Feel free to add a little description to the link to Gallery2Blog for example:
Quote:
Gallery2Blog
# converts galleries to blog posts.
# makes changing gallery descriptions easy and efficient.

You may of course be more creative. (don't forget to copy the link)
Create a account
Fill in your name and email address and press the "Create account" button. You will receive a email which contains the password you can use to login.
Enter your email address and password and press the "Login" button.
Change that password
Click "Password" in the menu and enter your current password and two times a new password. Press the "Change" button. You need to login again.
Create a new RSS feed
Click "RSS" in the menu and click the "Create a new RSS feed" link. Now follow the steps:
- Enter a name, for example "My sexy feed".
- Paste the content of the CSV file in the big "Gallery import file" field. (the CSV file is the text file that contains the gallery urls, names and descriptions and sometimes even more).
- Enter values in the Separator, Enclosed and Affiliate code fields. See the help sidebar (the one on the right with yellow background) for help on how to find the right values. (there is also a link to a couple examples)
- Press the Preview button.
- A table appears which displays the information from the CSV file in a table. One table should contain the url to the gallery, another table should have the gallery name and another one the gallery description.
- Make sure that the right column numbers are in the 3 fields below the preview table. If for example the gallery url is in column 3 and the field "Which column contains the url to the gallery?" contains 2 then you have to change the 2 to 3.
- Select "I confirm that the above table is correct." if you are 100% sure that everything is OK.
- Click the Preview button.
- Now you can change the Post and Subject template. A template will allow you to change how a subject and blog post will look on your blog. Both templates can contain tags. Tags will be replaced with actual values when the subject and blog post is generated. [col_X] will be replaced with the value from column X. Replace the X with a column number. There is one additional tag: the [img] tag. This tag will be replaced with a preview image of the gallery. See the Help sidebar for more details.
- Click the Preview button.
- Now you can see how the final blog posts will look like. The image that says "image not yet generated" will be replaced by a preview image of the gallery that will be generated by gallery2blog.
- If you think that the final blog post preview looks alright and if you don't see any [col_?] tags in the preview then enable "I confirm that the above blog post is correct." and press the "Save All" button.
- You should now see the message "RSS added". Congratulations!
Wait a while
Gallery2blog will now start generating the preview images for the galleries you just imported. This can take a while. These preview images will be included in your blog post, so that the surfer can actually see a preview image of the gallery. To see how far gallery2blog is with generating the preview images:
- Click on the name of the RSS feed you just created, in my case "My sexy feed".
- The numbers below the header "Your gallery image generation status" show the status of the preview image generation process for the selected RSS feed.
- The numbers below the header "Global gallery image generation status" shows how far gallery2blog is with generating all gallery preview images for all the users.
- Wait until all preview images are generated (see under header "Your gallery image generation status").
Lets do some typing
Most CSV with galleries don't have extensive gallery descriptions, most of the time it is just a little sentence. That is far to little to be useful for blogging. That is why you have to add some text that for example describes the gallery.
- Click on the name of the RSS feed you just created, in my case "My sexy feed".
- Click manage.
- Select the item in field "Which column do you want to change?" that ends with "<-- Gallery description".
- Now a big table appears. The second column "Image" contains the preview image generated by gallery2blog. The third column allows you to change the gallery description.
- Go ahead and add some sentences to the gallery descriptions of the first 5 galleries. You can do the rest when you have time.
- Scroll down the page and press the "Save" button.
What now?
Now the system is ready to:
- Generate a RSS feed which you can use in other software.
- Put the blog posts directly to a Thumblogger blog.
Because this tutorial is already to long we are going to focus on point to, put the blog posts on a thumblogger blog.
Schedule those blog posts!
Click the "Configure" link under the "Put galleries on a Thumblogger blog" header. Follow:
- Click the "Configure & Import blogs" link to import your thumblogger blogs into gallery2blog.
- Click the "Thumblogger" link and enter the email address and password you use to login to thumblogger, press the Change button.
- Click the "Import/update Blogs" in the second column, this will import your thumblogger blogs into gallery2blog.
- Click the "View Blogs" link in the second column to view the blogs that have been imported.
- Click "RSS" in the menu, click the newly created RSS feed, in my case "My sexy feed".
- Clink "Configure" under the "Put galleries on a Thumblogger blog" header.
- Now you have to decide on which blogs you want to put the blog posts and when and how many at a time.
- Lets keep it simple and add 1 blog post on every saturday and monday.
- First enable the blog in the first column.
- Second "Sat" and "Mon" in the second column.
- Third enter "1" in the third column.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press the Save button.
- Find the blog you just enabled in the list and click the "Direct Add" link in the last column, this will cause 1 blog post to be added to your blog within 30 minutes.
- And ready! now every saturday and monday 1 blog post will be added to the blog you enabled.
But i don't wanna use Thumblogger!
Gallery2blog can also export the blog posts to a RSS feed. A RSS feed with the blog posts can be imported with a plugin for your blog software (feedwordpress and others for wordpress) or Rss2Anywhere.
You can configure the generation of the RSS feed by clicking the links under the header "Export galleries as RSS feed / to your own blog". Help is available on the Help sidebar (at the right, yellow background).
A tutorial will likely be written soon for this feature.
Phew!
