I got my first poser a few years ago from a good friend in excange for a few
cuba libre. He is a genius programmer but like most excellent programmers
he has serious trouble with graphics so he purchased poser hoping that even
he could easily create some models with it to test a game engine. He gave
up pretty fast and i got poser real cheap
It's about time that i upgrade to poser 7 (heard the have improved lighting)
but i think i wait t'll the next SR is out.
btw: you can abuse poser as modeler and for texturizing, although poser
is of course not designed for that and there are a lot of limitation.
The base of that alien fucking machine was made entirely in poser (and a
drawing programm of course)
Well, since i want to take that 3d stuff more serious and are more and more
concentrating on it i think i'll have to spend some money on prof. modelling
and texturizing stuff like shade, ZBrush , Deep Paint3d.... a good tracer
should be also on that list. Seems like 3dsMax is still preferred by the pros,
but 5.057,00 €

and you can easily spend the same ammount on plugins
and not to forget the hefty price tags for 3ds props.
