Add the blog posts to your blog
In this part of the tutorial we are going to schedule the written blog posts so that they will appear with a certain interval on your blog or blogs.
First lets login into gallery2blog, click a rss feed and click the "Configure" underneath the header "Put galleries on a Thumblogger or SensualWriter blog". In a next part of this tutorial i will explain how to put the blog posts on a blog on your own hosting.
After you clicked the configure link you will likely get a big list with your blogs. If you don't get a big list then go to Servers in the menu. Now we are going to import your blogs into gallery2blog so that gallery2blog knows which blogs are yours.
For thumblogger blogs:
Click 'Thumblogger' link, fill in your email address you use to login at thumblogger in the Username field, fill in your thumblogger password in the Password field. Finally press the Change button. Now click the "Import/update Blogs " link and hope that everything goes right, if it doesn't go right double check your username and password. To see if all your thumblogger blogs have been imported click the "View Blogs" link, you should see a page with all your blogs.
For sensualwriter blogs:
Click the "Add a new SensualWriter Server" link, a new page appears. Fill in the following field values:
Host: mysubdomain.sensualwriter.com (replace "mysubdomain" with your subdomain)
Port: 80
Path: /xmlrpc.php
Username: the username you use to login at sensualwriter.
Password: the password you use to login at sensualwriter.
Press the Change button. Click "servers" in the menu and click the "Import/update Blogs" link, this will import your blog into gallery2blog. If you receive a error please double check if your field values are right. Click the "View Blogs" to view the blogs you imported.
Now we have imported our blogs we can continue at scheduling our blog posts. Click "RSS" in menu, click a RSS feed, click Configure link. Now you should have a page with all your blogs you imported.
Lets explain the columns:
The first column "Enabled" contains the name of the blog and a checkbox which indicates if a blog is enabled.
The second column "Post on day" contains a checkbox for every day of the week, this will allow you to specifiy on which day(s) you want a blog post to be posted to your blog.
The third column "Post count" contains a field which specifies how many blog posts should be added to your blog.
The fourth column contains a link "View posted", when clicked this link will show the blog posts that are already posted to your blog by gallery2blog.
The fifth and last column contains a link "Direct Add", this link will allow you to directly add a blog post the the blog. Make sure the current day (in second column) is selected and that the blog is enabled (first column) to make this feature function.
A example:
Lets say we have 2 blog: blogx and blogy. We want to post 1 blog post to blogx on monday and thursday. We also want to post 1 blog post to blogy on wednesday. The steps to accomplish this:
- enable blogx and blogy (first column)
- for blogx check "mon" and "thu" checkboxes in second column.
- for blogy check "wed" checkbox in second column.
- specify "1" in the field in third column.
- Don't forget to press the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
Now you can wait a while and gallery2blog will post 1 blog post on every monday and thursday on blogx and 1 blog post on wednesday on blogy.
