Just because your shemale site has tons of backlinks doesn't mean you'll get the #1 spot on Google for "Shemale"...
My biggest blog has been around for ~18 months and it probably only has between 40 and 50 backlinks. Yet it's receiving over 8k unique visitors per day and I'm now making about $1k/mo with this blog alone.

Many backlinks is good, but backlinks aren't everything. Just add a few good ones on a regular basis and continue to post.

I'm obviously not a Google insider (although I did work for a company what developped and operated a SE a few years ago ), but I wouldn't be surprised if a red light starts blinking at Google when it spots a blog which has 2 times more backlinks than it has posts.
