A bump about what is written about backlinks. I've got blogs with 1/10 - 1/20 the amount of backlinks (and I don't mean links to the entire link domain, I'm mean to the actual index page) of other sites and landing on top. Sometimes I see a keyword string with 4,000 backlinks and think how am I going to top that, but I see sites with 150 backlinks taking a higher ranking.
Rvince,
thanks for the advice on keeping posts to backlinks in a fair ratio, it never crossed my mind.
The best SE advice I ever received in 4 mos. was to just create a good quality blog and google will reward you. . . nothing has been more true. This is exactly what I am reading in Rvince's suggestions. Build a good quality blog.
The idea is that there is a reason google is the #1 search engine, because its algorithm best matches what the surfer is looking for. Its only a matter a time before splogs are blown out of the water compared to solid build blogs, otherwise the SE is not doing its job and will be unapologetically removed from the cyberpool. I highly doubt that.
