Alright then, guess I really wouldn't know afterall, since I've only tried asking on a few occasions

(and with one exception, only in connection with a review update or a login that expired before I got around to doing the reviews).
If you don't have a problem asking for logins it's definately a good way to save money for a new reviewer - otherwise you could easily be spending at least a few hundred dollars a month on memberships (unless you try your luck with trials, but they are often with limited access these days as far as I know).
Not that that hasn't been a worthy investment - even the sites that aren't selling for me (most of the ones I've reviewed by far) are no doubt still being used by readers for comparison and thus improving sales of the better sites in the same niches (also the main argument I use against those webmasters who occasionally claim reviewers are supposedly biased and inclined to give all or most sites higher scores than we feel they are worth. Why should we? The genuinely mediocre or crappy sites make the good ones look even better
