No one reads text, right? You might just be surprised how many surfers take a look at text before they hit a sponsor link. While most people do skim text on the page, whether it's a TGP or a blog, targetted text can lead to a pleasant increase to your sales and traffic.
There are a few methods you can employ to have your surfers feeding out of your hand, and the search engines knocking at your door. The first I'll go over is preselling, the second is keyword optimization, and the third is matching the voice of your text to the niche / site you're selling.
Preselling Your Surfer
The difference between 1:1000 and 1:300 can all depend on whether you are giving your surfer what they want and giving them the trust that they need to buy. Preselling doesn't have to be complicated – it can be as simple as a descriptive text link (e.g. See lesbian sex videos with gorgeous girl on girl fucking action) or as complicated as giving a mini review of the site.
Preselling your surfer will help them to pick out exactly what they're interested in, making it more likely that they will turn into a sale. This works even if your surfers only skim the text – just bring out the phrases you want them to latch onto by making them bold, italicized, or even making bulleted lists of your main points.
Keyword Optimization
Chances are, if you've been running your sites for long you have heard every bit of SEO advice in the world. I'm not going to go that indepth as to all of the strategies you can use to attract more traffic from the SE's. What I will do is go over a few simple ways to optimize your keywords in order to attract the targetted traffic that will bite on the porn that you feed them.
The easiest way to do this is to really look at your sponsors – see if there's any particular type of micro niche that they really focus on, then use a number of two and three word phrases that will get the traffic looking for that particular micro niche. Going off of a lesbian example, instead of lesbian porn you might want to focus on lesbian bdsm if you are sending traffic to a fetish lesbian site, or lesbian milfs if the girl on girl action features older women.
You can use bold and italic formatting to bring attention to the phrases as well, similar to the way you would with the preselling.
Text Voice
The last part involves matching the style of your writing to the text of the landing page or the tour page. Look at the phrases they use on the tour – are they using specific micro niche phrases (like ladyboy for the shemale niche or classic in the vintage niche)? You will want to match the types of phrasing they use in order to make a smooth transition over from your site to their tour.
If you are more interested in speaking to the niche audience in general as opposed to targeting it to a specific tour, one of the best things I've found to do is read forums dedicated to the niche. The people there will give you all the proper terminology and phrasing that lovers of the niche use – allowing you to have the surfers relate to you on their level as opposed to an impersonal relationship. They will see you as a fellow niche lover, and be more apt to follow your suggestions as far as quality sites.
