Yes, this is very important. I am especially interested in the concept of preselling because this is used a lot in mainstream marketing, and not as much from what I can tell in adult marketing. If you have a page that links to a sponsor site, for example, which do you think would sell better:
This is one of the hottest shemale sites I have ever seen. I love watching these sexy trannies suck each other's rock hard cocks and fuck each other's tight asses. Click Here to check out one of my favorite sites. But if that's not your thing, you can try this one or this one.
Shemale hotties go wild at this site! Click Here Now!
Neither of the two examples above are completely perfect or completely bad, but the first example gives more spider food, is more like a trusted friend talking to the surfer than a salesman, and offers alternatives to the main site (which is probably okay on your traffic traps as long as the TOS allows you to market other sponsors on the same page as theirs). In addition, the first example paints a vivid picture in the surfer's mind and is more likely to make the surfer want to check it out. This can make a big difference in sales.
If you're not good at writing erotic text, or even if you're average but not great, this is one of the cheapest services you can outsource in the adult industry. You could probably get someone to write text for you for as little as two cents a word. Some people are just prolific erotic writers.
Regardless of how you do it, it's very very important. It makes a difference in SE traffic, which I have heard from numerous sources is the best converting traffic there is.
