Why not go and see if your local mom and pop camera store has a short adapter cable knocking around or a set of male and female hotshoe adapters, then get busy with the soldering iron and some cable?

Or if you plan on using the flash permanently in the ring set, why not just drop out the hotshoe terminal from the bottom and lengthen the connection cables?

With watching this thread, it reminds me, I have a Nikon SB28, with a cracked support so it won't trigger anywhere off the horizontal... I think it is time to visit the pet shop, and get busy with the Dremel!
