Google doesn't punish you for things that are out of your control. If they did it would be way too easy for someone to remove their competitors from the search engines. So getting backlinks from sites that google doesn't like isn't really an issue. Just be careful with who you're linking to.

Getting a backlink from an unrelated niche still has alot value, it just doesn't have as much value as a same niche backlink.

I haven't had much luck with linkdumps or social bookmarking sites - your link doesn't stay there with linkdumps and with social bookmarking sites your link soon becomes buried and many of them put your link through a script.

As for Knowboform, its just another crappy seo tool. It isn't going to bring you any traffic.

If you want SE traffic then make sure your sites have plenty of content on them and trade hundreds and hundreds of links with other webmasters. Aim for setting up 50+ sites and trading thousands of links.
