The only way you're going to get enough one way backlinks is if you buy them, and that would turn out to be very expensive for you. Doing link trades is your only real option.
There's loads of cheaters out there. I use kaktusans Links Organizer to track all of my trades and it checks to see if the backlinks are still up, if anyone takes your link down you get an email about it. You can also use it to put the links into your page.
I probably spend more time searching for link trades, working out linking strategies and putting links into my site than I actually do building.
