Too bad, without backlinks no amount of unique text would save you
Personally I spend a lot of time hunting backlinks as well and it pays off extremely well so far (over than just building).
Building itself is an easy thing to do, its far more important to get traffic and convert it. Building helps in a sense that it gives you a base for future backlinks though
