Depends on the size of the prints!

Here is a good tool to calculate what you can get from certain sized sensor resolutions... However, you would need to know the height and width in pixels for the specific resolution.

Also, there are issues when it comes to larger megapixel groups of cameras with small sensors, and the lens types. To boil that down a bit, a 6mpx Nikon D50, with a 50mm prime, will kick out a way better image than a 10mpx compact with a 3x zoom. Due to the size of the sensor (less interference from other pixels), the quality of the optic, size of image circle...
