NDA for writers and designers?

What do you think of using an NDA -- non-disclosure agreement -- with writers and designers?

I had someone doing work for me make a few posts about what they were doing for me without any thought to confidentiality. I had to ask them to shut up and stop posting on lots of forums about my projects (this is not a recent thing).

While at the outset it sounds like a good idea ... I know a lot of people aren't apt to give out their full name, address and details to a webmaster wanting them to do work. But without that, I have no legal recourse, and of course an NDA is a legal document.

And, let's face it, not all people we hire are in the USA.

How about a simple, "Don't talk about my fucking projects to anyone or post on any forums and you'll be paid when done. Mention it and your payment is fucked."

(half said in jest, you get the idea)
