A gift account will cost the person who is gifting the account $5 plus they need to put $1 into the account. I know because one of my regular clients just did this for me. I worked with him for a year before he offered to do this for me.
In general people will not gift accounts to people they don't know are trustworthy because in this business you never know who can be trusted - they might be pulling scams or all sorts of crooked stuff.
There are two places I know of for sure that give out epass accounts with your first sales:

If you're not with them already, get with them and promote the hell out of them.
