I don't understand, nand (flash) memory has near 10MB/s random read speeds, any SATA $100 disk has over 60MB/s, so I really do not see any point in this.
Just put firefox to use 50GB for it's cache on second disk drive and you will have throughput of 60+ MB/s.
This would have sense with SSD drives who have 100+ MB/s average troughput (Samsung 1TB drive has 91MB/s, check Tom's Hardware charts 3.5" Hard Drive Charts | Tom's Hardware ).

Ummmm ... first off, this has to do with general system performance ... NOT FIREFOX ... you can set the FIREFOX cache to 20 GAZILLION GB for all I fucking care ... I am talking about how fast programs like photoshop, flash, dreamweaver, Maya, blender, 3dsm, etc, etc, etc open .... how fast your system shuts down and/or reboots ...
If I want super fast internet browsing, I'll just use Safari ...
Like I stated earlier ... I posted this thread for the benefit of anybody who wanted it ... if it's not your cup of tea, then FUCK YOU VERY MUCH and move on ....
THERE IS NO NEED FOR PEOPLE TO BE POSTING NEGATIVITY IN THIS THREAD!
I have learned my lesson, and will from now on refrain from posting stuff that I think might just benefit some poeple.
