well lets be specific .. dont need to add to people's fears
1. Privacy domains are proper information, and as such are not subject to revocation.
2. Registrars (one's that are honorable - of which there are fewer and fewer these days), will notify you and allow you the opportunity to correct the data. The better registrars will not delete the domain name, but will merely place the domain on admininstrative hold till you realize the domain doesnt resolve anymore and then get in contact with the registrar to correct the problem.
You should always put proper contact information into your account profile, and then layer privacy if you dont wish to have your whois data revealed, so the registrar can contact you.
Cheapies.com now defaults to free privacy with an opt-out feature.
