The choice is yours. If you go into your branch they will give you a deposit form for foreign cheques. If you fill in one form for each cheques under £50 there is no fees. If you have two cheques that are under £50 then use one form and its no fees.

Cheques can also be cleared on a Collection basis. The clearance time for this procedure can take between 4 to 6 weeks. The charge for cheque collection is:
Minimum of £16.00 or .25% whichever is the greater, maximum of £40.00. Please check this with your branch at the time of deposit.
As far as barclays are concerned their fees apply per cheque deposit form.
