There are several people who are jumping ahead, building sites, and all sorts of things before they even know what the guidelines will be for the portal project. On behalf of the portal project, we ask you to please

STOP!

There are 3 things that people need to do to get started on the Portal Project:

Register a domain

Have hosting ready to go

Begin to familiarize oneself with the niche if this is a brand new niche for you.

Optional:

Create a header

Play with a color scheme

Form a general idea of how you want your site to look, but do not spend a lot of time actually building a site. Map it out on a piece of paper, jot down some ideas, but do not actually build your site until everyone is given clear instructions concerning the project.

Find sponsors you wish to try.

We are very excited about this project as well, but we ask that everyone hold off on building an actual site until the project has officially begun and everyone has been given instructions as to how the portal project works and what is expected of everyone.

If people jump too far ahead, it will mess things up. It will create a lot of confusion. We want everyone to be able to start on a clean slate. We do realize that everyone will move at a different pace. That is fine and we will work with each person as needed once the project has officially begun. Until then, just make sure you have a domain and hosting ready to go.
