Directories are not link farms. If you choose not to submit, don't. The problem a lot of bloggers have is they have links going to and from 200 directories. Of course Google frowns on that.

There is a simple solution. Build a network of free hosted feeder blogs. Submit the hell out of them. Build another network of hosted blogs. Link to the hosted blogs from the feeder blogs. Do not link back.

Rinse and repeat.
Sounds like a good idea. on these feeder blogs how many directories would you submit to? Is there a reputable list around?
