No its not a crock of shit. They have that info and the person who loaded the funds couldn't have charged back without getting screwed. As a result the funds transfered to you would have been more protected.

Also why dont you do what I did and just black out your CVV2 ?? Also asking for the details is to protect them more than its to protect you.

Anyhow again if you feel so violated and feel like taking a 'moral' stand then do it. Nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to take epassporte for your hosting.

Personally I like the fact they are cleaning up shop a bit. Less risk for me recieving money from others in epassporte. Sure some good users will be caught up because they refuse to give up info, but they are going to clean out all of the dodgy ones too. Only wish paypal would be more aggressive with verifying users.
