Hit the nail on the head! I see to many themes for sale that look great but are SEO suicide. For those not after SERPs they're a great deal, but for those working the SEs totally different story.
I'd pay a small amount for a SEO built adult theme (I am yet to find one), being sold to multiple people (thus price point lower). . .
and by SEO built I mean the following:
someone on here mentioned clean semantic code, but I am also talking about other things like proper use of header tags, importance of post titles on post pages, importance of title on main page and category pages, logical order of the code, minimizing white space, code validation, etc.
Instead I do what others here mentioned and create a custom header to a mainstream seo theme.
At the end of the day a great looking blog with no traffic will always sell worse than a terrible looking blog with optimized traffic, hands down.
So if anyone is selling what i just posted then contact me. I'm interested.
