You just need to make a page, any page, call it index.html and put it in the top level directory
Index of /gallery
It should be a page where surfers looking to view the pics for free end up seeing join links. As Zeuse said you could put a fpa there. Personally, I would just redirect it to the tour page.
Do some research on custom 404 pages too
