Child Protective Services steps in when someone reports some form of child abuse. So if CPS is doing anything with your daughter it seems like the mother or father would be the one "in some bullshit." More details please.

Chole aka Chelsea is based in the UK judging from her previous posts. So CPS means Crown Prosecution Services. And she didn't say her daughter was a juvenile - she could be an adult.

My first observation is that $900 (about £450) is chicken feed to a UK lawyer.

And my first question is:

Why can't you she get Legal Aid?

It is a basic principle of the British justice system that all defendants are entitled to legal representation - i.e. a lawyer, whether they can afford the fees or not.

LezGeri as a former solicitor I have to correct what you said Legal Aid has been eroded over the years and is not and never has been available for all sorts of cases in the UK. However if Chole is in the UK talking about the Crown Prosecution Service implies it is a criminal matter and judging by the speed British justice works would have had months of notice about this so I don't understand why the need to get money together in a weekend. Sorry still sounds fishy to me
