Want to make some reviews, then send traffic.

No disrespect but if it is you doing the reviews do you really expect paysite owners to give an 18 year old access to their sites to write a review that has zero traffic?

Please be honest with me, how many paysites have you ever paid for yourself, how many sites do you currently have a membership with?

Shoot, my site has been up 4 years and some sponsors still won't let me in!!

Seriously, though, many sponsors are no longer allowing "new" review sites the access since it seems many projects fell through and a lot of content was simply taken, plus a lot of sites seem to have said that these "review site owners" are just surfers.

That's how we all began back then ... and I think Mihx still buys 90% of his memberships, but he also doesn't cover all niches.

Well, somewhere between 20 and 100%

. Depends on how many requests I have a given month (and the last few months I've been a bit slow with the site reviews in general, as I've been working on other sites as well as adding a DVD review section).

I generally don't understand this attitude (from reviewer's, not the paysites, and I'm not implying, or assuming, it's your attitude either

If, as a reviewer, you've got your eyes set on a site you think looks interesting and should be good for regular sales, or just a few for that matter, is... shock, horror... investing 30 bucks in a membership really such a big problem?
One sale (PPS) and you've made that back.

Edit: Recently I've actually limited the amount of requests I'll accept in a month - for the sole reason that I was getting a bit annoyed with having a growing list of interesting sites I would like to visit (and pay for) on my own, but not having enough time because I felt I ought to be doing the requested reviews first

Start with fake reviews, review the site by looking at the tour. Get the info needed - how many videos, pictures they have etc

That approach might work (perhaps even well) if we're talking about a "throw-away" project, but it's probably not something I would recommend for anyone who intends to eventually start posting actual reviews on their site.

If you went by tours alone (possibly including sample pics and videos), there are a lot of lacklustre (or worse) sites out there that would get rave reviews.
And a number of excellent ones that might get slammed.

Its a difficult situation

I always say : we offer passes for any serious webmasters, basically meaning that if you have a decent site decent traffic passes are not a problem. Zero traffic means that we wont issue a pass. Its a simple as that. And yes I wanna see reviews too, there are too many review sites that write reviews that are just as bad for them as they are for the programs. Ive seen reviews dissing Twistys cause the color clashed in the members. Seriously.

Good reviewsites send daily signups and get yearpasses without even asking. But we cant do that with everyone starting a blog or reviewsite no sorry.

Reminds me of the review I read of a hairy site where the reviewer said most of the girls were pretty but they needed to all shave as it made them ugly.

Im sure their intentions are good but I guess most dont realize that starting a reviewsite takes as much effort cash time etc as a paysite when you take things seriously. If you wanna live from the revenue of a reviewsite you gotta take is seriously and unfortunately just a few do imho.
