Has anyone heard of any issues with Canadian banks and EP?

I didn't know that. It's funny though how countries can have "anti-gambling" regulations and, at the same time, prey on their poor with their own "lottery fantasies".

FYI, I just heard back from ePass regarding my asking them about sponsors dropping them, gambling issues, and such.

They responded with an unsettling general response to the effect that:

- sponsors are free to use or not use ePass as a payment option

- cardholders are free to use ePass however they choose. ePass will not block them if they want to pay for gambling

In short, they do not seem to be interested in adopting policies which would secure sponsor/bank issues as they relate to activities which are problematic.

This looks like it's going to be one of the "let the chips fall where they may" type issues.

I was really hoping for more.

There's plenty of legal gambling in the US. Far more now than there was even just a few years ago.

You just can't gamble online (legally). They haven't figured out how to regulate and/or tax that yet. That's the issue.

I can't imagine anyone gambling online actually expecting an honest shake at the odds.

It's so much easier to rig software than physical gambling machines.

The concept of randomness on a computing device is pseudo at best.

We aren't the first to remove EPS. It's the beginning and other US companies will end up following.

Important Payout Update
Dear Valued jaYManCash Affiliates,

This letter is to inform you all that due to circumstances beyond our control, our primary banking institution, Fifth Third Bank, has notified us that they are closing our business checking accounts.

We have been given until June 29th , 2007, to conclude any company related business transactions. This means that if you receive a paper check from Third Pentacle, LLC. (jaYManCash), you must have that check processed by your bank BEFORE the 29th of June in order for it to clear our account.

We understand that this may be an inconvenience to some of you, and apologize for that. We also want to assure you that Third Pentacle, LLC. Is in no way in financial or operational trouble, that this problem is as a result of our banking relationship with a popular online third party payment processor that has recently come under fire for various infractions of state and federal trade laws.

Anticipating this problem may lead to where we are now, Third Pentacle, LLC. Has been taking steps for the last two months to move our banking needs and resources to another institution, and have been welcomed with open arms. The new bank we are with has more features and support which will overall improve our service to all of you, our valued affiliates.

If any of you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly through email using rr.accounting@gmail.com. If you do not cash your check BEFORE the cut-off date you will need to contact our Accounting department immediately for arrangements.

Respectfully,

jaYManCash

Third Pentacle, LLC.

no way, checks suck. non-us sponsors will not have a problem. so what about jaymancash, seems they simply switched to a bank that has no probs with epass? hey, anyone can get an offshore bank account easily if needed...

btw, just talk to michael o. and you always get super fast super personal service at epass.

I read they're allowing gambling sites, which is illegal in the states... which is a big red flag.

Well if it is about gambling, then someone needs a slap. Gambling is a legal international business, and epass is not a US organisation.

Is there any reason why sponsors cannot establish off-shore bank accounts to legitimately circumvent any problems related to US banking and ePass?

The problem with that though, is that funding offshore gambling from the US is illegal. Epassporte is doing absolutely nothing wrong. The problem is that a US bank gets into trouble for transferring money to a foreign organization, for the purposes of gambling. If it's a crime for a US citizen to gamble online, anyone who helps him do it is an accessory to that crime.

Epassporte is not a US company, so they can do whatever they want, but the banks they need to work with to do business in the US don't have that luxury.

That might not be a problem for some of the bigger guys. But when it comes to taxes and red flags that will go up with the government if they move their banking offshore...It's just 100 times easier to stay away from Epass and send a check.

ePassporte is committed to the Adult Industry, as our presence, support, sponsorship and staff have demonstrated for close to 5 years. This is not the case with some banks. Most of us have experienced problems in even having bank accounts at certain banks (B of A in particular) as we “…have income from pornography…”). This has happened to some of the largest companies in Adult.

And for those that say that some problems are because “ePassporte is in gaming”, that is untrue. We have never had any involvement in any illegal activities. We do have a few poker clients, no sports or casino sites.

Please consider that ePassporte has the largest Adult Sponsor programs using us as a payment method. We process millions of payments every month in the Adult Industry. We have been doing this for 5 years. Most of you know our Team. ePassporte is here for the long term, no matter what you hear.

Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience that third parties cause our clients and our business.
