Question epassporte has "put the adult webmasters and affiliate programs at risk"?

I just got an email...

Quote:
Epic Cash will no longer use the epassporte system any longer as a payment option.
Why you ask?
For the simple fact they have put the adult webmasters and affiliate programs at risk.
What do they mean by that?!?

Epiccash is welcome to their opinion. I personally take anything they say with a grain of salt and have for the past 5 years.

Well while I don't trust epiccash as far as I can throw them, I can see how US sponsors are getting nervous seeing as epassporte supports online gambling.

Whilst epass doesn't suit me for various reasons, it does seem to be useful for a lot of adult webmasters. It would be good if they could go back to posting on the boards to stop any further erosion of confidence in them.

I've tried at least 5 seperate times to get an Epass account. Every time there's been some kind of problem. Reps don't call back, verification process is never completed. There's always something.

They're about as worthless as Epiccash.

Personally, I have never had any problems with ePass over the last couple years.

I agree with those wanting a "second opinion" (rather than relying on EC's email/"intelligence").

I understand though that several other sponsors have removed ePass as a payment option citing issues with their banks (in relation to EP).

I'm sure I'm not the only one who relies on ePass as a important vehicle for keeping our gears greased. I sent a note off to ePass to ask them about this and I hoper they will offer some sort of public response to this recent wave of sponsor dropouts and the related industry grumblings.

ePass, now would be a great time to work on some PR!

There probably is a risk of your funds being frozen for a protracted period of time, especially if you look at what happened with neteller.

It's pretty simple. Banks are refusing to deal with sponsors (see Jayman Cash) who use ePassporte. Banks are closing accounts and freezing funds when finding out companies are using ePassporte -- this is what I've read, and I do believe Mastercard is no longer allowed to be used to fund an ePassporte account.

If a major company like Mastercard is pulling out, and sponsors are worried funds will be frozen by their banks, meaning webmasters will not get paid -- it makes sense on their end.

That was just a problem with US members. In fact all of these payment service problems seem to come down to US banks, or the US government. It's no wonder the US is losing its influence on the net.
