Your thoughts on mobile porn market

Dear Netponders,

More and more people use their mobile phones to access internet.
Taking this into consideration, do you think that mobile porn is going to become a really big and profitable market? I have read several articles that predict great future for it but I just don't see it at the moment (I might be wrong though). I know that there are some programs which already target this market (mainly european market) but don't know any "big names". Maybe somebody is working with such programs. If so, please share your experience.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

From a mobile user perspective I don't believe porn for mobiles has to be a separate market from normal porn we sell and promote everyday. Simply because mobile screens are so small.
Those using expensive mobiles with big screens can simply browse internet websites and wouldn't need a special mobile only porn.

I like SMS billing though, so much more people are willing to buy porn via SMS and phone calls than via credit cards.

100% agree. I browse normal internet with my phone, I don't need any mobile porn or im not interested in any .mobi names.

You say that there is no need to separate mobile porn market from the general market. Sure if you have a mobile with big screen you can simply browse internet websites. but if you don't you need a special resolution. Besides, if you use just a usual phone and browse sites through WAP, downloading a movie as it is now on sites would be nonsense, cuz an average movie is like...47 mb. So you need special encoding with special resolution, right? Don't you separate mobile porn this way?

Btw. does anybody work with mobile traffic atm?

Webmasters are already sitting on terrabytes of digital data - mobile is just another route to market.

Yes, at first it was cumbersome and technically challenging and the cellcos keep too much. But as new technologies such as "Clich & Buy" emerge, the situation is improving for both wapmasters and surfers alike.

Mobile porn will be massive because it's a completely personal medium. Don't forget that there is more to porn than looking at pictures - how about audio sites for example.

Mobiles are likely to be used a modems as well, and that creates another potential market. Just wait until they have projectors if you want to see really explosive growth.

If they come up with glasses of some sort that go into mobile phones that allow you to view what's on that tiny screen, then yeah, there is a good chance it will be big.

This has been discussed ad infinitum on this board and it usually comes to the same conclusion:

There's no money, it's a fad etc etc.

When I started out, i did the traditional free sites, gallery submits and make about 100 bucks in 3 months.

1 month with a WAP site and some SMS billing = £2k in my first month.

THERE'S NO MONEY IN MOBILE!!!

I know that, in my country 50% webmasters promote only Mobile(logos, wallpapers, porn access -sms), (CC has only 10-20% people), but i think that: this niche/market(mobile) is very hard to promote. Good Luck!

Many of my friends are using mobile devices for everything we use our computers for - most don't own a computer so they use their new toy to view porn. Hang out for a week with the teck-savy kids (18 to 24) for a while and you'll see what I see. Besides, the IP at work has blocked all the good porn....

2. Sign up with google adwords for mobile
3. ????????
4. Profit

It's not hard.
