For those who buy traffic....

When you check the daily statistics to your site (unique visitors, hits, etc) do they match exactly with what the company said they sent you?

I purchased some traffic for the first time yesterday (06/27) and the company says they sent me 1302 unique visitors. My records show I only received 1068 number of visits total (I use hostgator).

So far today the company has stated they have sent me 2566 unique visitors, but my records only show 2008 number of visits total.

Before I bought the traffic I was getting anywhere between 40 - 70 number of visits a day on average.

Should I cease and desist with this company immediately, or is that jumping the gun? Thanks for all suggestions and advice.

That happened to me as well but the person I bought traffic from was a scammer.

The company you're buying traffic from could be stealing a few hits btw. I wouldn't continue buying traffic from them.

i think you post the link of the company you bought the traffic from here, there is many webmasters here that buy traffic from diferent places, they could tell you if you got scammed or somthing else is the problem

I was trying to avoid that until I got more info, but it is choker traffic. I have heard a lot of positive things about them on this board so I'm trying to be sure before I yank them.

I always factor a 30% overstatement into each traffic quote.

They never deliver what they claim.

Choker is pretty good and you get what you pay for, but the traffic comes so slowly. Depending on the niche it can be a trickle hardly worth bothering with.

Any chance that your stats are lagging behind theirs? I know with my server stats they only update a couple times per day so you can't really compare them to real time stats unless you go back and compare the whole day yesterday, and even then you might have different time zones so the day started and ended at different times.

That's actually pretty common. If the surfer closes the page before it loads or they have something blocking your page from loading you will lose some traffic. It shouldn't be much more than %10 though.

yeah i did buy from choker once and i got a sale (25000 hits for $25 and 1 sale which was $30 pps). not bad imo.

Some traffic come with no referrer info or false referrer info (AOL browsers, ...), so you can add 15% to your numbers

Choker is one of the most honest traffic brokers I know and if you really have problems with them you should contact them first before mentioning them on board for fraud...

In my opinion it is not fair to tell people on boards that people are scamming you blablabla untill you have proof of it... Itis possible that your server statistics are couting hits different than choker does and dont they state on their site that their count is final...

Yes, I agree with this. And the comments about your stats not being in the same timezone as theirs etc.
Best thing you can do is to make sure your landing page is fast loading and doesn't contain any funky scripts/codes that might not work in all browsers etc. But you will still see a small difference.

Yeah, I had same traffic problem before. Now I can't find that thread That's the primary reason why I don't buy traffic anymore....Better way is to built it by yourself

yes I have had some good traffic lots from choker but also made some mistakes with it

First off I didn't come in here screaming fraud. I had a discrepancy in the traffic they said they were sending and my stats (which I have proof of) and I wondered if that was correct.

Second I initially didn't even mention the company's name until I was asked and if you READ post number 4 I was trying to avoid that.

I did not one time say they were scammers or whatever I wanted to know if an overstatement was involved, maybe my stats were wrong etc.

I know that their site says "there count is final". What the fuck does that have to do with me stopping doing business with them in the future, or me withdrawing the money I already have in my account.

Don't come at me with bullshit like that again
