Thanks a lot for the info lyno!

Yes, sounds pretty complicated to get all that necessary things and add on and for sure it can be expensive when I calculate all things that would want to have

Daz3D - http://www.daz3d.com - is, if I'm not much mistaken a company that started out making "props" (clothing, items etc.) for the basic Poser characters several years ago.
For a long time now their Victoria 3 (and now V4) characters have also been the most popular base characters for other Poser characters - and their store still has a ton of items.
Additionally Daz is also developing and selling software these days - Daz Studio which is a free (and supposedly pretty good) alternative to Poser, using pretty much the same basic character system etc. - and now they've aquired Carrara (complete "budget" 3D package) and Hexagon (modeller) as well.

Here are a few relevant links.

The Victoria 4 base model: http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemde...4800&spmeta=ab

The full V3/4 product category: http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/catmai...ctoria?cat=350

The V4 section of the Renderosity store: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bc...D=11219.102553.

Edit: Oh, and for adult purposes it's worth noting that many of the character sets (specific "personalities" for the base Victoria model) at Renderosity have extremely detailed textures with visible labia etc., so unless you actually need to spread the pussy lips apart or show penetration (which require addon props as Lyno says - and possibly quite a bit of work to get them to blend in properly with the model and textures), they might be good enough.

Check out this image for instance: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bc...iewImage=67827
or this one http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bc...iewImage=71490

I make all my models from scratch, never paid a dime for a 3d model, then again I don't have access to a huge library of props so I can't throw together a scene like Mihx did back there, I'm kinda jealous about that.

I would love to learn modelling (and shade/texturing) myself - even if it obviously requires a huge investment of time to make a full scene that way compared to just slapping together premade props.

I'm just getting started with the Cinema 4D demo (looks like I might end up buying that package within long) and I've messed around with Hexagon some months back.

Modelling is definately something that requires both skills and a whole lot of practice, and even on the off chance that I might some day actually be able to build assorted items and scenes, actual character modelling seems to be a whole other level again. Good thing there's always the option of mixing Poser characters with your own less complex creations .

But that gives you one advantage, you are not limited to your library of
props, figures and backgrounds.

Yup, but also takes a lot of time I guess... so, it all depends on what you really want to do...

Purchased Hexagon yesterday I tried blender before. It's a great prog
for sure, but i just can't get accustomed to the user interface.

In the meantime i use poser for simple modelling, or better remodelling. That
robot is build from a skeleton and primitives. The spine is a mechanical
tentacle from madlab2. The backdraw of that method is that there are a
lot of limitations in design and you can't share the obj files of your creations.

up pretty fast and i got poser real cheap

It's about time that i upgrade to poser 7 (heard the have improved lighting)
but i think i wait t'll the next SR is out.

btw: you can abuse poser as modeler and for texturizing, although poser
is of course not designed for that and there are a lot of limitation.

The base of that alien fucking machine was made entirely in poser (and a
drawing programm of course)

Well, since i want to take that 3d stuff more serious and are more and more
concentrating on it i think i'll have to spend some money on prof. modelling
and texturizing stuff like shade, ZBrush , Deep Paint3d.... a good tracer
should be also on that list. Seems like 3dsMax is still preferred by the pros,
but 5.057,00 € and you can easily spend the same ammount on plugins
and not to forget the hefty price tags for 3ds props.

This surely is amazing work!
