Besides epassporte statements each month, do you guys also include all the monthly statististics as well from each sponsor program you're promoting and earned money from? Just curious.

how they can know what i have on my Epass account? if I live in country A but never withdrow from here... only from country B...

lets say I withdrow all my Epass mony on caountry B, how goverment A will know that?

I haven't actually provided any documentation for my income (can be a bit of a tricky thing to do when you don't have an employer reporting your income - and deducting taxes automatically, like the case probably is for at least 95% of the adult population in this country) - just the total figure.

If they want documentation I'm sure they'll ask for it (hasn't happened yet) - or decide to do that full audit .

Of course if I was running this as an actual business (and I'm sure you'll have any experienced webmaster around here saying that you should), I would have an accountant, supposedly a lot of receipts to use for various business related tax deductions (hosting etc.) and a bunch of paperwork - but as I said further up, that's all too much of a headache for me .

i'm far from australia, but i still wonder how the australian authorities will know. they'd have to have info from epass that account abc with visa electron nr xyz belongs to you, or how can they track it down otherwise?

Do they actually need any info from ePassporte? I would imagine (well, just speculating really) that Visa must have the name, address etc. tied to the Visa Electron card (though I guess it's possible to supply false information of course - when you sign up for the ePass account - but let's not get into the legal ramifications of that ).

Pretty much in a nutshell, when you swipe your card through an atm it has the black stripe data, ie: your name/address & etc.

Then at tax time when you do your tax return, the ATO verifies all banking info against your name and what your claimed in your return. If they see obvious descrepences then they audit you.

Our ATO are also a bunch of ruthless crunts that will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just to prosecute small timers, because they can.

They might not know, but I could not live my life knowing that at any time I might get audited and then I will possibly go to jail and have a huge tax bill when I get out.

I can't wait to become a perpetual traveller for this exact reason and I rarely touch my income that goes overseas.

It's not a lifestyle that suits many. if you want a big house and nice cars, material crap then forget it. I plan to sell up, pack my bag and travel the world for a few years paying no tax.

Then get the big house and nice car and the rest of it.

It helps being never married, single and no dependents as well.
