Things you wished you knew when you were younger?

I read an article about this recently and it got me to thinking... what do you wish you knew when you were younger that could help you out today?

Here are a few from me
- Learning is essential. Treat everything seriously including college, reading a book, doing research on things like where to live. The more you learn the smart you can become business wise.

- Start investing at an early age. Even if it's $50 a month... do it when you're 18. You can use this money for retirement, down payment on a house, etc

- Be persistent! If something is going to work (let's say free sites) keep doing it every day or you won't succeed (or won't very fast).

Does anybody have anything they'd like to add to this list?

Don't believe the adverts for womens sanitary products.
Women do not jog, roller blade and laugh when its that time of the month.
Something I forget every month and found out again this morning.

I do
I spent from 1975 to 1991 partying like there was no tomorrow
at the bar every night, at the beach or park, drinkin, druggin, and fuckin my life away.
don't exactly know how much $ I spent in that time period partying
but I do know if I can save 2/3's that much in 17 yrs I can retire fairly well off by 60.
whether it money earned or money won, its a goal I have been aiming for.
I may not want to retire at 60, but will be able to do so if desired, provided I live that long.

I would tell myself to live by these rules if I could go back...

1) Knowing how to play the guitar is cool, play it every day.
2) Raves suck, and ravers are losers. Rave dancing is gay. Don't ever go to a rave or listen to rave music.
3) Playing sports is cool and good for you, do it whenever you can. Especially hockey!
4) Being a liberal douche is not cool, even when you're 18 years old. Just skip the whole thinking like a hippie phase because you'll grow out of it anyway.

I could think of this stuff all day, but there's a few.

of course women do not do any if those things at that time of the month

My 10 year old daughter gets it...she had a lemonade stand and was charging $1 instead of the normal $25-50 cents and I asked her why she thought she could charge that and she said "well, I just tell them mine is better, so it costs more"

Everytime I forget to make my CC payment on time I have to pay a fine of $15.

I've not owned a credit card in 10 years. They make you buy things you don't need and can't really afford.
If you need a Visa for the Internet just get a prepay one, it'll save you lots of stress in the long run.
