Is it ok for a paysite to have 5 sets to start with?

I'm wondering if its ok to launch a paysite when its got only like 5 sets to begin with. Considering they are all exclusive and niched?

I'm thinking there won't be many webmasters willing to advertise this on their sites, so I might as well begin doing it myself.

But the question is, is it alright to begin with? New stuff will be added weekly or twice a week.

Its just an idea in my head. How real is it?

not sure guess it would depend on how much you are charging to become a member.
I know if I went to site and paid good bucks to get in and found only 5 sets I would not care if there were even daily updates let alone weekly, I would be asking for my cash back.

If each set have 2000 pictures...then it migt be ok;-)
Even the smallest TGP have more than that, so i don't think that will be a success!

You really need much more in the way of content. You need enough content to keep your buyer busy for some time. How many pics are in the set, and do you have video content to go with them?
If they are 40 pics per set, and you have no video content, you may keep your surfer happy for 20-40 minutes before he thinks, where is the rest of the stuff?

well, its going to have like 170 pics and WMVHD videos in each set..

if it was an ultra micro-niche and was cheap membership you might get away with it but i wouldnt feel comfortable lauching a site that small

Yes, you can. You can put up a site with less than 500 photos and do very, very well with it.

It all depends on the niche ... micro microniche sites ... and if you are the only one with a site like that ...

I'd start it off with an AVS system in a subdirectory of your paysite domain with the warning page linkint to that, and then when you get more content get your own processing and put the real site in another subdirectory.

Also if the content is exclusive look into stuff like clips4sale.

Well actually many sites have done that and been doing it for years.

the original ARS sites, some Silvercash sites even have so little content and just some general old stuff, yet they make an absolute fortune.

I remember Serge explaining it a few years ago.. was an interesting model.

Not suggesting it though ... at least get some plugins or some filler content.
