How on earth did Australians come up with the nickname of "budgie smuggler" for a swiming costume, and is it a man's or a woman's costume?

budgiesmugglers is, and I did a bit more research and found that budgysmuggler is a brand of mens swim shorts. I guess it's the male equivalent of a cameltoe. I already own Hot Bulge, and I haven't done much with that, so I guess I leave the name for a budgie fancier.

lmfao it's a great phrase, don't hear it often enough.

Budgies are probably the most common household pet bird in Aus, and Speedo's are the brand most people would associate with budgie smugglers.
