rel="nofollow" question

will using the tag rel="nofollow" on my fhg links give SEO benefits to my website and link partners?

I strive to believe it does. I'm using it only on one of my sites for those links pointing to sponsor paysites and I can say there's a difference between that site and other similar sites I have ( which do not use this ).

Of course, it's relative, but from my experience and from what I've read about this and also about using robots.txt for excluding certain pages of a site from being indexed ( pages which are not necessary to be index such as login/register URLs ) gives the site a boost.

If you are listing too many FHG, use NOFOLLOW tag for them to give better value for out bound links without the nofollow tag.

What ever you link to with that tag, won't get any se benefits. Hence the whole point of the tag.

the tag will make sure the se's disregard these links, which may benefit the weight of the other outgoing links on your site and prevent you getting hurt from linking to "bad neighborhoods"

Use them on any link that contains queries. SE's can't follow them anyways so why bother making them try...

this is my point exactly. i want to use the nofollow tag on the galleries in my tgp project so my link partners will have higher value links going to them

i wanted to verify this so i can use it as a perk when i trade links

page From which you link to with "no follow" tag gets SE benefit because of decreased amount of outgoing links. links with "no follow" become invisible if I understand it right?

and there is no point spreading your Page Rank to sponsor links, especially if they redirect and can't be indexed, anyway.
