What would you do? Scriptlance.com project

Hey all, I posted a design project on scriptlance.com on 9-2, So 3 days ago. I got a winning bid, for $50 and turn around time of one day. (which would have made project completed and delivered on the 3rd)

Heres what it said

Well This is what I had the ad saying

I am looking for a design to be implemated into the babelogger script.

I have the script and the domain. I just need the design work done.

I will allow the designer to use my domain and server to do the work, if needed. I would like to request a demo before final payment is given. paypal is the method of payment that I can give.
Must be easy to input trades and links.

Well after 3 days he finaly sends me a screenshot, no script or files, just a screen shot. and it looks like this ScreenShot

Would you be satisfied with this or would cancel the project and go elsewhere. I do like the design, but I needed something that is very easy to eidt so I can use on multiple domains, and the whole point is, it looks nothing like I had requested in the first place.

Please give me your thoughts and opinions fellow Ponders.

Hell, no. I wouldn't pay until he or she met the requirements you stated. Then again, you're paying 50 bucks. You're pretty much going to get crap like this for that amount.

That looks like a website from 10 years ago or something.

Yeah, but the $50 shouldn't matter since it was on a bidding system and they bid the project that low.

That's probably the best you can expect for 50 bucks but like you said they sent no script or files. Don't pay until you get the goods.

to be honest i presonally prefer the design you have ended up with compared to the original - apart from the pinks being a bit too dark

Even though its a bidding system, you seriously can't expect to get good work for $50.

No designer in the world who is worth their salt and aren't absolutely desperate for cash would dream of offering to do that work for so little.

If you are paying so little, you really do need to lower your expectations.

Don't really know why the guy made you something graphical .. all you asked for was a (x)html layout .. (looking at your example)

As for the graphical stuff .. looks like crap and I wouldn't pay for it (but $50 isn't much to expect anything graphical anyhow)

I've had some amazing designs done by people there. To some of them, $100 is several months' salary and some are amazingly talented.

I found all my programmers there and other than one jackass, all have worked out fine. The best one I had was $10 an hour.

But, I have cancelled MANY projects because could not give me the design I wanted

To reply on the "What do I expect for $50" I put the budget to $100, hes the one that bid it so low. Thats not the princible, I asked for a BLACK look he gives me pink. Its not the whole Idea, its the concept behind it, colors didnt match, the look didnt match. Its not my fault he bid it at $50.

If you thought you were getting the design you wanted for $50 wouldnt you take it?

I have no idea how the naughtvidclips website looks like, as the url is redirecting me to abut any malicious website online.

That said, for $50 i think you have got good value for you're money.

I tried using scriptlance but after posting a couple of script projects, all I got was submit form, without an actual script behind it, and several pm's from dishonest people asking me to pay them directly instead of the through their escrow service. The site and the idea of scriptlance is great, but just filled with ripoff artists. I pulled my projects and from then on I only use Kaktusan
