Or that some movies just look and sound better on a screen that's 15-20 meters wide and with a $10,000 sound system, than in a compressed and slightly blurry or pixilated version on a 20" computer monitor or 40" TV .

Generally I can't really say that my trips to the cinema are social experiences. I usually go to see movies in the afternoon or earlier when there's typically only someone sitting in 5-25 of the 500+ seats - and as you would expect, as far away from each other (individually or in pairs/groups) as possible.

I love going to the art house Chelsea Cinema in the afternoon. Huge seats, legs resting on the seat in front of me. Nothing better.
