1:92 this month - gotta brag a little
Wow, with one of my sponsors I've made 26 sales and my true raw clicks to sponsor vs sales ratio is 1:92. If I could convert all my traffic like this... I would start doing this full-time!
I guess the trick is to learn from this example. What am I doing right? How can I repeat this for other websites, other sponsors, other niches and keywords? Can I do the same thing for mainstream? Post some advice on sales text, filtering traffic, and tricks of the trade for converting... |

Many of my conversion ratios run between 1:1000 and 1:3000. That's for a mixture of traffic from trades, TGP, SE, etc.
I think my ratio in this case is so good because a) I built a unique website to target this niche b) I promoted it heavily c) I've secured some good positions in various SE's for good keywords/phrases d) luck! The luck thing is starting to become less of a factor as the sales climb. If I made 2 or 3 sales, I'd feel lucky. But after 26 (make that 27 now), I know I've done something right. |

I read it that way at first, too, but then I realise that we all have our own secrets and ways.. and NO ONE wants to tell off what is their bread and butter, and so, we are at a sort of an impasse. There really needs to be some sort of an auction block for real stone cold knowledge, really does. Alot of the guys who seem clueless on forums are just playing dumb for their own good, you know, the guys like this recent PR character they're spewing advice because they haven't got anything juicy that they would hide if they did.. see ? |

You ask what you're doing right? Where is the traffic? How are you getting the traffic? How are you promoting your site?
Isn't the answer obvious? |

Agreed,
What you essentially have is the guys who have inside knowledge talking in private sharing juicy information with eachother only in the name of knowing they can both benefit from the exchange.. they're not plastering the keys to their mines on public streets Sad as it is, too, you could post a complete ten step guide to wealth and no one would believe in or follow it-- they're all off following empty headed people who are good at talking. |

What works for me may not work for you and vice versa.
You notice the original poster won't even give the name of the site he's promoting. Why? Most people with amazing ratios won't, as it saturates the market. |

You guys are too serious, lighten up! We're all "dying", we'll all be dead soon enough, let's have a little fun and not be so negative and depressing!
And Maxwell's right - I could post a 5 pg tutorial and people would fill it with goofy affiliate codes and "hey I couldn't get program XYZ to work" posts. In other words, no matter how specific I get, an enormous number of people will never be able to get enough detail to be satisfied. Besides, I am not the expert. I don't have it all figured out. I "struck it rich" with a new line of activities, and I plan on exploring it very thoroughly. Like Pam says, just because it works for me and my style and my traffic doesn't mean it will for you. Note that NOBODY handed me anything on a silver platter. I've been working my ass off for the last few years just like many other people. Between 2005 and 2006 I increased my gross income in adult by 10x. Between 2006 and my projected 2007 earnings I'll land at a 41% increase. My goal for '08 is another 40%. Here's specific advice I bet most of us have heard before and rarely heed: 1) define specific goals, 2) find out where you are and where you want to be, 3) align your roadmap with your goals and your locations, 4) work tirelessly. In terms of giving advice, read a few posts up. I think you'll find a,b,c, and d very valuable if you apply your brain. And Pam, as to your question "isn't it obvious"...nope! I know exactly which pages my sales came from. I know exactly where most of my traffic comes from. But just because I have all the parts to make a car doesn't mean I know how to build one! I will try to duplicate my efforts. If it works, I'll be that much closer to a true understanding. |

Just to make things interesting:
1) I promise you will never see an affiliate code in any post I make on Netpond. I have nothing against those who do it, but I want my focus to be clear - I'm here to learn. 2) I have about 400 netpond points, and I will never spend a single one. I'm going to donate them to somebody... 3) The first person to post some good conversion tips in this thread that 5 people agree are "top quality tips" and worthy of a donation will get all my points. |
