Jeez, I thought this was someone wanting to sell a site. After reading 3 pages I feel cheated. Thread does not deliver.
But on the subject, unless you are truly adept at marketing, I would skip the teen niche and specialize in something less saturated, if you want to make money. __________________

While sitting at home, I'm sick with a cold so might not be that good, a thought came to me. You need bookmarkers and people to stop surfing. Uniques are a reflection of your ability to get traffic, sales are a guide to your skills in appealing to those uniques.
As an affiliate your loyalty is to your surfers. Think of them as your customers and "friends" I put it in inverted commas because true friends are different. Build a site, gallery that you like in the hope they will like it as well. Promote sites you would join and that you know will give them a good time. Be a font of knowledge for them. Target your site into sections so he can browse easier. Don't think of them as "Clicks" they are people. You might of found a great site that they should know about, a great deal on memberships, something new they should come and see, new model, new site, new design, special deal or just a plug in FLV player they could like. Promote sites for their needs and not yours and watch your income grow. Give the surfer a reason to stop and a bigger reason to bookmark your site. He's got so many choices and those who work hardest for him will win in the end. Some people will know all this. Some will not or not even thought of it this way. As I said I'm sick with a cold. |

If you don't understand the Teen niche no matter how good you are at marketing, when the surfer lands on the site it's up to the site to convert. How do you know a site is good and will convert if you don't understand the niche? Teens is the most prolific niche on the Net, the surfer has so many choices and you're income is down to picking a site that converts and is not over saturated. Selling niches where the options are few the surfer has less choice. |

paul is trying to say that the 40+ surfer knows exactly what he wants, thus he is already targeted and he is in the age bracket to actually whip out a credit card. These 40+ surfers just need a little help trying to find exactly what it is they are looking for, and if a webmaster directs this surfer to the right destination, he'll buy. |

It's just my opinion and to be honest I have nothing to back it up, to me younger people would be more into the "Girls Gone Wild" style porn. |

How do you know what you're showing them fills their needs? If I send you to get a box of Kellogg's Cornflakes it's easy. But if I tell you I like corn how do you know what corn I like, how I want it prepared and even if it's good corn? Marketing is not sticking boxes on a shelf and hoping they will buy it, it's about putting up the boxes you know they will like, in the way they will like and making sure they see it. You can just copy and paste and guess but that's not selling. Do some research into the products that sell. Learns how they sell and why they are so popular. Then push them or find similar products that are under marketed or new. Varzi you truly are clueless. I have said don't push teens unless you know it. My teens or anyone else's. Plus do you think the guys buying Bang Bus go out in their van and pick up girls at bus stops or the goes going for MILF have a girlfriend the age of their Mum? Truly clueless but loves to tell us he knows what he's talking about. Porn is all about drooling over what you're not getting. Hence, all the anal sex, facial cum shots and moaning and screaming. There you go HB, you're selling a fantasy. The fantasy is already in the viewers head all you do is present a new scene of it, or a new girl doing what others are doing in 1,000 other scenes. All you need to know is, is the scene beleiveble and how to present it. Heres 3 links that might help. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...s+demographics http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...cs&btnG=Search http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...s+demographics |

You're posting the webmaster's fantasy Paul, and not the surfer's fantasy.
You research the product if you want to sell that product, you research the buyer if you want to find new products and marketing methods. As you have pointed out, teens is such a broad market that you can't select one niche and say that is the one for mature surfers. |

Not that easy. So I'm saying assume you're tastes are not so weird, sell the product, you know or like or have learnt about. In a way you would like to be sold to. Unless you can find demographics you can trust. Did you find anything on Google? |

Yes Paul i always believed Bangbus picked up real girls on the corner. LOL
What happens in their videos you can actually do all over South Florida. Some of the most known places being Miami Gardans, Miramar, Liberty City, Overtown and even up here in Central Florida around Disney World. If you hit up 79th street in Miami you will find women of all ages walking the street ready and willing to get in your car, bus or van. Thats where the idea came from and it happens to be a fantasy that many men are living each day. You may see it as a far fetched fantasy but i grew up around it. I am just the fool who grew up working in the clubs with real people. Of course nothing could be learned from hanging out in the clubs or knowing real guys who live the fantasy. My friends probably do not have a clue what they want either and just waste their money banging real strippers. I mean the pleasure they can get from the real deal even if she is not the youngest thing on earth is nothing compared to what teens found on Paul Markham could do for them. Everyone should listen to Paul only he knows what everyone else in the world wants. Thats why Paul is the most successful man in the world and runs one of the most known sites in the indystry. None of us should even try to do things that Paul does not agree with or we will be destined for failure. Guess what Paul im still here since 1999 and i think ive done ok for myself. No one hates me or feels the need to call me a spammer. I shut down my site for reasons that were mostly related to the fall of iBill and all my affiliates were paid. Obviously it made me enough that there was no need to sell it either. There were some offers for a buyout and they were turned down. Just like the domain i have right now in the domain forum if it wont sell at my asking price then life goes on. Remember we had this talk about me using Bargain basement content. The fact that my designer the same guy who created Nubiles and many other top sellers picked the content used from all sets purchased. In fact he built the sites that you copied most of the ideas for your own site from. You told me i was a fool because he used what you claimed was TGP content. In your own words webmasters should buy content for posting that is not even found inside the site they promote it which would of course be a lie. So here you are telling us to market a product the surfer wants and yet behind the curtain you tell me he should be lied in order to make money. In fact you make it sound as if its better to deceive the surfer to get him in the door which usually leads to poor conversions. I wonder if its only better because its more profitable for you to sell more content that way. Then you wonder why people insult you all the time. You are not here to promote good business you are here to make an easy buck anyway you can. Noobs might believe your words as gospel but im not one of them. __________________

There are tons of surfer forums where they discuss likes and dislikes. I found one by accident this weekend when following a link from my logs. The forum has nothing to do with hairy women but I found a lot of threads about the subject and read what they had to say, which echoed what they say on other sites. There was a difference but that's a comment for another thread (if I can find it). |

What I am seeing now is much younger guys are buying hairy porn. Yes, I ask the reasons, but if I posted them here you'd just disagree and argue, so there is no point. But, I LISTEN to what they have to say and gear my marketing towards what surfers tell me. I would think the tougher issue on selling 18-23 year olds is they all know how to find torrent sites, all know how to use P2P network, all know how to find the password trading sites, and most don't have the cash and would rather spend it elsewhere. I saw an interesting comment on a surfer forum the other day, where the guy basically said he'd never, ever pay for porn since he can get it all for free on TGPs and surfer forums. (This forum is run by someone with a paysite, so all they are doing is fucking themselves and all of us by allowing the posting of free porn). |

And then again, how do you define what something you're not getting is? That could mean a type of sex or it could mean a girl you have the hots for. An individual's porn preferences can quite closely reflect their reality (present or past or possibly future) - or at the other extreme, not just what they are not getting, but things they could never get - pure fantasy. E.G. the man who loves lesbian sex porn - he can watch it in porn & maybe in real life too sometimes, but he can never truly participate because he is not a woman. Similarly the butch lesbian who loves gay male porn. This is why I try to tell other webmasters that you can't assume that all the people signing up for gay sites are gay men. Or if you see women joining a lesbian site that means they are lesbians, or even actively bisexual - they might be or they might not - or it could be a man using his wife's cc. There are numerous possibilities I could rabbit on. But I think you just need to examine the product (the paysite) & sell it for what it is. Some sponsors will give you definite guidelines to follow - for example if you are promoting Abby Winters don't call her girls "dirty little sluts" 'cause if she catches you doing it she will ban you. It would be a bloody stupid thing to do anyway because such language is completely out of keeping with the nature of that particular paysite. And if you can't tell that just by looking at the tour then you should give this biz up and go do something else with your life. __________________

Fantasy = Often something that happens, but not to you. I fantasise about scoring the winning in the FA Cup final. It happens, just not to me. A porn fantasy is often real, it might of even happened to the consumer, odds are it's not happening when he's on the Net looking for a paysite to join. And he's your best target audience. Not many join Bang Bus when they could jump into their car and cruise streets full of girls looking to fuck. Yes Pam, finding a forum where people talk about the porn they like is good. So try Google guys and see what turns up. Post some links here. |

Thanks to those of you who have turned this thread towards my intended target. If you could just ignore Paul, and continue discussing the topic amongst yourselves, then that would be tremendous. It's not very often that we can find threads on surfer motivation.
