The robot industry is huge. Not just tv or movie robots but actual working robots that do all sorts of things. Androids and even huge Transformers type robots have been invented and displayed. There are contests around the world and the Japanese are years ahead of most innovators. I was big time into robotics as a kid but in order to get the devices to respond to their environments was impossible because we didn't have the computer processors we have today. We'd still need processors and relay solutions of incalcuable magnitude to do what a living being does but we can do a good enough job for impersonation. When you study robotics and AI (artificial intelligence ) and you see what we're limited by you stand in wonder at the smallest bug as it's able to do what it does and then you look at people with all that brilliant processing power and you wonder what the fuck is wrong with us.
