Or waiting for them to do so ?

If you are doing it manually, how do you do it ?

you just need one backlink to get indexed by google...i do submit manually to yahoo and msn.

I've never submitted a site to google... I just make sure to link to any new site from a well indexed site and within a day or two i get the new site indexed.

Google for "Smart Update Pinger" and "No Ping Wait", they are both plugins, activate them and then enter this list into your automatic pings under wp-admin >> Options >> Writing

I reckon the best way to submit to Google is to add a search box to a sub-page, and link back to your index page. Then do a couple of searches every day.

Hello,

We manually submit to Google and Yahoo as well as other search engines. You can also search "FREE URL Submitter" and some sites should come up that you can use.

add your site's RSS feed to your custom google start page ( www.google.com/ig ), and search for it a couple times - even get a friend to search google for your new domain too ... (yourdomain.com)

This will get you listed in less than 24 hours generally

a lot of seo experts say that its not good to manually submit to google
just get at least one back link and you should be indexed automatically soon enough

one link from a PR5 site or higher, should get you indexed in a day or so
