Well, I believe that's just 2D tech, and just a high-resolution/big screen version of video chat with better sound. Still, it's quite impressive, particularly considering the bandwidth and latency demands.

Proper hologram technology where you can see 3D without using glasses is still pretty early in development. I tried a NASA hologram system a few weeks ago -- it was really cool (they also had cameras so I could look at myself in 3D), but the viewing angle is so narrow that it's not really all that useful yet. I asked them when they were planning to market it to the porn industry, but they didn't really have an answer for that...
