Anyone ever have heart troubles?

Hi all

Im back from more tests at the hospital

Seems i have an irregular heart beat and also a fast one.

Avergare heartrate is beetween 60-100 mine is 130 ish

I have to go see a specialist bit scared as im only 22 and am pretty fit.

Anyone else had somthing like this or know anyone thats had it?

no I havn't but I'll tell you what, worrying about it too much can't be a good thing so just relax.. do you have anxiety? I use to suffer anxiety attacks but I think I,m over it now.

oh and generally the fitter you are the lower your resting heartrate should be so keep that in mind.. hope all is well

Nope no anxiety stress free life pretty much.

Just hope the specialist can sort it out.

I know there is medication that can help with irregular heart

I have some problems like that too. go to the specialist and take the stress test. They put you on a treadmill and monitor your heart.

They say mine is nothing to worry about so I try to let it go.

I DO have to get my triglycerides down as they say that makes the heart work harder. It has been better since I have worked on getting all my numbers (high cholesterol, low cholesterol) in the right place.

I have had heart issues the last couple years. I am on 4 meds to help my heart pump better. I suffer from cardiac insufficiency. In other words, my heart cannot pump enough to circulate the blood through my body. I have to lay down every 4 hours for an hour or so to try and help it out. I need a surgery, but insurance is balking at covering it.

just before my 40th b-day, stress is a big part of it also doesn't help to have some blocked arteries either.. but hey my cholestorol and tryglicerydes were normal oye

My cardiologist told me that women get a different kind of pain from men when there having a heart attack..for me I had pain in the upper part of my stomach and it felt like I had over eaten, and the pain went right thru me and it felt like it was coming out my back. I had no reason to think it was a heart attack, I thought possibly galbladder, but when I started to turn white and sweat profusely my boss told me I was going.

When I got to the hospital my EKG was normal they actually made me wait for a half hour..LOL geez im so glad I didn't drop dead there.. they did a blood test called a tropoline test and that was quite high . I had a angiogram a few days later and said I had 1 artery blocked at 50 1 at 20 and 1 at 30.. I need to loose 20 lbs im not over weight, I eat healthy and the only thing I do bad is smoke..so they said oh its because you smoke..I say bullshit but my cardiologist said that stress can cause the build up as much as the types of food you eat.

I passed my stress test on friday with flying colors and I have been given a really good out look he told me to get rid of the stress..LOL oh okay sure I said all I have to do is sell my kids stress is gone..LOL I said but im pretty sure thats illegal here unless you want to give me a dr's note hahaha

i also had heart paps is what they call them a few years ago, they kept me in over night for observations I had an extra beat in my heart and it made me feel light headed.. the cardiologist told me he could give me pills to help make it stop but then I would have to stay on them..he said its stress related and too much caffine and or alcohol.. I found better ways to channel my stress and within a few weeks it went away..

It could be nothing or it could be the beginning of something take the tests, but if your a big alcohol or caffine consumer, cut back also smoking is not the greatest for it either.. do you have high blood pressure as well?

I need to go but it's so expensive to go to the doctor in the states. I've been thinking of taking a bus to Canada but I don't know if it will be cheaper in the long run to go back and forth like that.

probably, but your funeral will be more expensive for your family! I think it would be wiser to spend your money on some insurance possibly.. to be seen at most hospitals here without insurance or not being a cdn citizen I think is 75.00 last time I checked correct me if im wrong.. but that doesn't include anything just the dr's time it costs more for tests.. and up to 800.00/ day to be admitted or somewhere around that..im not 100% sure but it is insanely expensive.

So much for free medical care. I met a girl last time I was on the greyhound who was on her way to Canada for medical treatment. She said she crosses the border all the time to get treated but I guess I just assumed it was free. she had skin cancer though so maybe her particular situation made it more affordable for her to go up north.

no we do get free medical care I was talking about someone who has no medic care card ...cdns have one its the americans or non cdn citizens who pay we don't.. I am a canadian citizen so for my blood tests and hospital care I didn't pay for it its covered by my medic care card..

My mom goes in for open heart surgery tomorrow. She needs a bypass and a valve replacement. Im scared shitless, she is 77 and all i have left.

Im saying a little prayer for your mom, Im sure she will do well, medicine today isn't like it was 20 yrs ago, they can do so much more now..

I'm starting to think that I should go and visit a doctor as well to get a checkup of some sort, my system has been down and it's scary!
