Why do people choose fraud as their way to make a living?

these guys that start email scams and steal peoples banking information or identities have to be fairly smart to run their schemes so why don't they just do something legit?

The Nigerian scams offer $500,000 or more pps - no adult industry sponsor offers this much yet, but the way things are going, we may see it next year.

They do it countries where police are not tuned up and can get away with it... for most of them it is easy money until they get greedy and get caught.

Take the Nigerian scammers for instance. Why would they work for some shitty 1$ a day job when they can spend all day sitting at a chair sucking thousands of dollars out of rich westerners. The choice is simple for them.

Fraud is not just nigerian scammers - it's stealing traffic on paysite tours, carding to defraud sponsors, shaving, SE cloaking, deleting link recips, using bought content to promote a paysite when the content isn't in the members area. selling warez etc.......

People are very quick to condemn the Nigerian scammers, but every day we see webmasters being outed for minor frauds. In fact it is becoming so common, that one can be accused of not understanding the business model if one mentions them publicly.

Yep it's getting hard to find a sponsor an honest sponsor these days.

Clearly not all fraud is just nigerian scammers. Why would you feel the need to say that lol ?

I fail to see the link between 419 scams and webmasters being outed for minor fraud.

Understanding what business model?

You might want to read what he said again. The things he refers to are mainly webmaster related activities, with the exception of 'stealing traffic on paysite tours' which is commonly referred to as a traffic leak. Paysite tours are clearly visible to anyone who choses to promote a program. If you don't like what you see then don't promote the tour. BTW we have no leaks on our tours.

As for honest sponsors the same is very true for webmasters. Ask anyone who runs a program. Webmaster fraud is a HUGE problem.
