I know Golden Palace used to do that a lot, especially with novalty fights...I guess it could be successful depending on what you are promoting

I don't think you could promote an adult site using a boxer ad though.

They do that in the UFC all the time, shorts and towels etc. I think it's all about name branding really and if it's related to the event then it'll work better. Promoting gear, drinks, training, tips, etc, that would work out good. Promoting a TGP, a blog, a bookstore, etc not going to work.

You need to have the event associated with your area and in an atmosphere that would set the selling stage for your audience. Sponsoring a bikini contest at a beach or summer contest yes. Boxing... naa. Unless it was a group of girls boxing and you had a site related to tough girls stripping down... I know there was some girl boxing in bikini's in London a few years ago.
Don't waste advertising dollars on wrong locations and demographics

The best strategy would be to sponsor the event and have some girls handing out cards with your address on as well to the audience upon leaving or arriving. Just the banner or name on a top won't do it, that would be to just get your brand out, the card would be to get them to take action. It's a price that just has to be accepted in order to get in their minds and make an impression.

Just remember, get the people you want in an atmosphere that would want them to have sex and you'll have sales.

Yeah for poker it would work well as it's the sort of atmosphere for it, people bet on boxing and the betting type are likely to play poker and it's a sport most likely to welcome poker than adult.

Thinking some more on this... if they have amazing girls holding up the cards however... there's an opportunity but still it's too small a time to really make any impression in the minds. Could work but it would be on a smaller scale, would still need girls to hand out direct marketing cards.
