Okay I want my own ladyboy/tranny webcam site (^.o)

I know that this is a long shot as making my own might take away a tiny weenie itsy bitsy bit of business from a netpond sponsor but here goes.

I now have 45 shemale hosts who work directly for me under 5 different sites and connections to about 20 or so agents who work with 10 or so each themselves. This means I can get about 200 to 400 hosts for my cam site straight off the bat without any trouble.

I can personally grantee my 45 at the very least will have a consistent online presence during the buildup of this site.

I’ve got a bunch of questions id like intelligent people to comment on but I also realize it’s not in the interest of many to help with the answers. I’m going to understand if nobody has any ideas cause if you do have ideas there is a good chance your already in the business and don’t want competition and if you aren’t you might not know anything to comment.

Here goes

1) What hardware do I need to host it and where should that hosting be? Would it make more sense to put the server close to the hosts or to the customers or does it make no difference.

2) Who or where can I get a php guy or software to run this. Out of the 5 sites I currently work on Imlive is by FAR the best for the simple reason it doesn’t tie up the webcam 100% of the time and I'm able to run 3 or 4 hosts accounts from one pc. This is what I will need as my hosts intend on maintaining their current sites and just running mine in the background like they do now with imlive. This is the only way it can work really apart from separate webcams as I cannot ask hosts to work my site alone for the first 2 years when the traffic is so low they cannot make any money.

3) Will the payment company and data costs bleed me dry so much so that I would actually be far better to stick to using other peoples existing sites rather then my own. This also applies for traffic to I guess in that 95% of profit would go to getting the traffic in the first place making my own site a moot point.


One way or another I’ve decided to do this but all that remains to be seen is if I lose just a little bit of money or a whole lot. I must profess the webcams biz is just a hobby for me atm that seemed to be more fun and earn way more then low yield municipal bonds. This and the fact I’ve still got a day job means I can really pour its own money back into itself to fund ideas such as this. My other hobby is square wave pulse ICU’s into varying plate designs trying to see if I can break the laws of Thermodynamics and produce lots more hydrogen from smaller amounts of power then others have using solar cells. (Had really interesting results with interlocking CPU cooler heat sinks spaced just right). Faced with these odds and the chance that if I succeed I will be whacked by an oil company anyways, I’m much more liking the webcams idea.
I’m not lazy when it comes to research and I have and will source good information from many places but due to the cleverness of the ponds inhabitants I though this would be a logical place to start.

To those who commented on my avatar I thank you for your comments but I was ashamed to say anything about it for 2 reasons. 1) Some might have though I was female and thus been less likely to give advice to a guy with a girl avatar. 2) That I saw the avatar on a free download site and ruthlessly copied it for my own making me a low down dirty unoriginal avatar thief…..but I liked it so much I just had to have it.

well, i dont have a clue as to the answers but maybe you'll have better luck if you make more than one post, for example making a post with hosting in the title should get all of the hosters on the pond popping their heads in.

I'm not sure if this is what you want to know but I know that you will need someone to build the webcam software to run the site for you and from what I have seen the cheapest ones that look similar to ones already in existence are about 20 - 30k on the low end and you can't just have someone make you one that is just a copy of another one because of copyrights the site owns for the program/software. I don't know how much money you have to invest but I wouldn't try running your own cam site unless you have at least 100k in the bank.

There are lots of companies out there for example www.2much.net who was kind enough to drop me a message. Their most expensive package including affiliate setup and the works was $12k and $100 monthly fee. Cheapest I’ve found so far has been $495 for the software the way I want it but I had to do the rest. I’m going with mystery box number 3 and getting my own made. Data seems to not matter as the page just facilitates a direct connection between host and customer.

I know what it will cost me now for hardware software and hosting which is not a lot at this stage but next step is merchant bank account and processing fees followed closely by traffic. I do envisage these things alone to be prohibitably costly but once again I will research carefully and think outside the box.

If I find a very easy and cheap way around both of these I will quickly slip a reply post in here stating just how hard it was to setup and how nobody should even think about trying. (^.o)

According to my wife the harder something is to do the better it is because you won’t have to fear people flooding the market. She would know she competes in a market even more flooded then this. Online sales : )

Okay dokay back to research for me, the stunning silence in a way has given me even more hope that I can make this work but only time will tell. Will I lose $10k or $100k place your bets.

Well credit card processing must not be expensive, my company can hook you up for free in 48 hours and the processing fees are also pretty low (8%) for high risk customers. Be sure that you choose a partner that is flexible and has an eye for your needs and not the other way around.

For alot of our customers we code spezial statistics or signup forms, because they are outside of the usual business, like gambling or pharmacy sites.

Another very important thing is a good fraud screening, most cheap merchant accounts dont have that and you will end up with 10% chargebacks and a frozen account. We check every transaction with several databases and questionable transactions will be manually reviewed.

Well I could drop $40k on it tomorrow and believe me I’ve spent much more on business ideas that have tanked in the past. I registered a patent for a serial tracking database that linked all retail stores at the point of sale. Any big ticket items that required name and address for warranty also added that items serial number to the database. This would make it easy for the police to find the owners of stolen items and also shut down most cash converter style shops over night. Very simple, very effective, no extra work required by the shops and it seemed to me to be logical. Tanked and failed costing me a small fortune as I was advised to get it patented before I tried to sell the idea and the patent lawyers raped me.

The list goes on for similar ideas that have seemed to be winners on paper but have failed when met with the real world. Lucky for me I’ve always kept a day job along side my dreams that pay me well enough to support them.

For this I’m going to be Scottish tight and try to do everything myself step by step. This includes generating traffic from a series of blogs and websites I’m making to get an idea of what I’m capable of doing for myself. Also I will search for every possibly way of doing merchant transactions fast, safe and cheap but this might be an area I cannot skimp on as money or legal issues I always pay to get the best.

The reason why I have money to throw at my stupid ideas is that I’ve always done everything myself and never thrown my arms up in the air and given away heaps of cash to somebody when I can learn a skill and do it for myself. This includes building work, mechanical work, plumbing, electrical, bodywork you name it. I’ve always either been able to get wholesale though my business’s or known a friend who could get things for me at the right price, sometimes just bartering skills for items or work I’ve needed done.

I seem to have a knack for fixing anything electrical or mechanical and if I don’t know how something works I soon find out when I take it apart. I’m not trying to say I’m super clever or anything its just I’ve never held the view that the tradesman you pay thousands of dollars to has some magical skill that can only be acquired from years of practice and meditation on top of a hill in Tibet. Besides now days the internet has so much do it yourself info it’s crazy.

One case in example is my brother had a 2003 Suzuki bandit motorbike. All the electrics where fried and no gauges or lights would work on the ignition. The bike shop guy he talked to on the phone suggested it would a small fortune to get it all rewired to solve the problem and by the 3rd quote he resigned himself to the fact that it was gonna hurt to get it fixed. After hearing this I decided to have a look. I had never worked on a bike before or had anything to do with them but within 10 mins on Google I had a whole schematic plus a common fault list and was able to find the problem. During its life somebody had cleaned it with a pressure cleaner forcing water into one of the connectors and thus corroding some contact poles and some of the wires. Replace the corroded wires and cleaned the poles and hey presto everything worked like new again in 20 mins. The bike shop would have done the same thing and fixed it in 5 probably but still charged the same amount.

What does this have to do with anything? Well simply put I’m not going to hand somebody or some company a wad of cash until I’ve had a dam good go at it myself and or understand exactly what it is I’m paying for. I will not be paying $10k for a site that I am clueless as to how it functions, therefore how to modify or repair it leaving me dependant on paying them what ever they demand if I should want changes or modifications.

To be deadly honest the main reason why I wont dump a giant amount of cash into it yet is that I think I probably have a 5% chance of making it profitable or even breaking even with it. That said nothing will stop me from giving it a dam good go and I will have a functioning cam site within 2 years If it makes money or not is another question but with each giant overhead I can ovoid via clever planning, the higher the chance it has of being in the black.

I am not greedy and if somebody can provide a piece of my jigsaw puzzle that is crucial and willing to barter their time and skills then I will certainly not have a problem sharing profits if any are to be had. That said I will not pay somebody $5000 upfront to generate what equates to $4000 of long term profit. The way I look at it is if you are confident about your skills you should also be willing to be paid the amount of money they generate if and when they do. This might screen out a large percentage of talented honest people who do their job well but it also screens 100% of people who are scam artists. I’m all about minimizing risk and to me its better to turnover $5000 and have $1000 profit then turnover $500000 and have a profit of $1000.

Anyways I will keep chipping away at it and every day that passes I get closer to my goal. Remember I am only value adding to an already existing commodity I have and looking into my crystal ball I can see this market getting squeezed. I would like my ark build before the first rains fall and if my overheads are even 5% less then my competition I will be able to survive until they drop out the game and the market stabilizes.

I’m open to any and all suggestions as there are people with knowledge in fields I cannot possible attain. If you are one of these people even if you have a suggestion it would be most welcome.
