another thing i like to do for directing traffic better is using the simple in-between plugin to place links or ads between the posts. those get much more clicks than sidebar links, many surfers follow the content and ignore the sidebars.

Hardcoreblogger can you lmk what that plugin is called??

ScreaM, Hijacking means to take over by force.
That means, if I have used this thread to get something useful for me and not for thread creator then I would have hijacked him.

Guess I need to get my programmer to write something for me

Pam, I am using WordPress 2.3.1 and it works.
Be sure to upload the php file into your plugin folder (not the complete map). That was my mistake at first.

pam, as he says, just put the .php file in plugins. then create simple text files for the inbetweens (with html code for a banner and/or textlink) which you place in wp-content. in the inbetween menu assign the text files to the place where you want them, that's it

That is a nice plugin, i use BO for that same function but still if you dont have that this is a great way to advertise.

Mine tells me I'm missing a file and even a permissions change won't fix it.

It's ok, I like my way better -- don't have to worry about a plugin to update.

Pocoloco, that's an older version of WP you're using anyway

it works fine on wp 2.3.3 and the other 2.3.x versions, i'm running it on various blogs with these versions. it never updated so far because it's so simple, and wordpress now shows you when there's a new version of a plugin. i found it the most convenient way for this purpose, but it's up to you, there are always other ways that work.

1. write good handwritten posts (you know what I mean)
2. update it three times a week religiously
3. do link clever exchanges
4. find a good domain name
5. do some other stuff required.

If all of above are done RELIGIOUSLY, can we except a make to blog $100 every month after one year? It is tuff question but I would appreciate a answer

hawkadu due to the nature of the internet you can't project that any blog will make $xxx per month past 3 months no matter how much you are making presently, likewise you can't just hang onto one piece of advice no matter how solid because things change and advice quickly becomes outdated, so try to be flexible and ready for anything. Like HCB said some people are making good money using the opposite methods he is using
